Things that you should stop doing when it comes to your curriculum vitae.
Be precise in your resume. Some people think that writing more makes them a more interesting person, but when you are applying for a job these days and no one has the time to read, you have to get over this idea and be concerned with the style of writing. Style, indeed, is one of the most important factors when submitting an application to be soon elected for an interview.
Writing too much perhaps is going to let you to make mistakes, without adding valuable information. Many recruitment agencies suggest that not more than one sheet should be used to detail your experience, the jobs where you worked in and your specific activities. Dates are important whether we like it or not, because they inform on the number of years or months we were working for, and give a clue to find out if we are a flying bird or a stable tree; some companies want people who truly believe in their projects and to involve their workers so that they feel like staying. It might sound a little bit too much but it is true and it is important to know precisely the company which you are applying to, know the professional profiles required in detail and the projects carried out: that is an other tip to sell yourself.
Lies are trouble. We live in a world of networks, where everything is quickly known and making things up is the wrong strategy. Why do we have to show someone who we aren’t? For that reason it is very important to know who we are going to contact, who we would like to work for, and really know all our abilities.
Here you can find a list with writing tips; and remember: only write what’s necessary.
