While it has only recently become part of mainstream culture and the business world, people have been using digital media for over 30 years.

By now the influence of SMM (Social Media Marketing) has grown into heights like never before.

These well-known and powerful sites have a large number of followers making groups, pages and profiles every day. And since every one of them is now used by celebrities and politicians as well as ordinary people, it is clear that social media has a huge impact on our everyday lives.

First of all here are the top 10 social media sites in the world today:

·       Facebook – rank number one and most popular social networking site with 300 million members all over the world

·         MySpace – place rank #2 in social networking sites and number #1 in terms of largest membership in the social networking sites on the internet today with more than 280 million members
